ABOUT ME

My name is Nina Strieder and I'm a 25 years old artist based in Recklinghausen, Germany.
All my life I've had a huge passion for art, painting, creating things from my imagination. I feel like I painted before I could walk. It's been probably my biggest hobby throughout my years on this world and the one thing I'd put the most time and effort in.

After finishing my A-levels with an intensive course in Arts, I applied for media design and art studies in Dortmund, where I got sent home with the note I "didn't have the talent needed to work as a designer". Not sure what I wanted my future to look like, I decided to work in Mülheim, Germany for a year where I got my first insights in the world of media design, online marketing and use of social media for promotional reasons. Following this internship I started an apprenticeship in Essen to become a full-time and officially recognised designer for online and print media.

During my three years of studying design I eventually started a project in September 2016, as I wanted to own a light-up sign of my - at that time - favourite band The 1975 they used as a universal logo on album covers, shirts and at times on stage. Crafting my sign I posted pictures online with an overwhelming response from people asking to get one as well. I saw my chance to use my hobby of crafting to create what to this date has become way bigger than I ever could've imagined. Starting with just signs for The 1975 fans I eventually started to extend my choice of products including bands such as Bastille, Wolf Alice, Catfish and the Bottlemen, to name a few.

Due to a chronical struggle with depression and OCD I had to stop my work on my online job to recover and find a healthy state of mind as every kind of work caused a stress I wasn't able to bear at that time. After a few years of taking a break, I now decided to pick up my work again as it always brought me loads of joy to make people happy with my signs. In 2018 I additionally started to work as a comic illustrator for my brother's comic label Reversed Comics, we plan to launch some day in the future, next to my full-time job as a self-employed media designer, shop owner and cat mum for my little persian cats Theodore and Charlie I got along the way of recovery.
