FAQ

  • What are the lights made of and how long do they last?
Even though my shop is called Buzzin' Like Neon, I do not use neon to create my signs. The lights used are electroluminescent wires, also known as EL wires. They are set to last up to 12000 hours.
  • How big are the signs and how much do they weigh?
Measurements can always be found in the product description. Most of them are either 12 x 16 inches or 12 x 12 inches. They weigh up to 1,5 kilograms.
  • How long does it take to make a sign?
Hours. Special editions maybe even days. But I always take my time with each piece, to make sure it's good quality, therefore bare with me if I can't restock every other day.
  • Are the signs matte or shiny? What are they made of?
The signs are made of wood but covered in plastic, therefore they are shiny.
  • What does the back look like?
The back is covered up with cloth, so it's not possible to see any excessive wires, glue or paint.
  • Do they run with batteries?
Yes, with two regular A++ batteries. I was asked before whether it is possible to get one you can plug in but unfortunately I only sell them with a battery box. It might be possible to get a plug for them though as the battery box is seperate and can be detached from the product.
  • Do you ship worlwide? What does the shipping cost?
Yes I ship worldwide. Within Germany it's 8,10 € shipping fee, everywhere else it's 20,10 €. Please use a currency calculator to find out what it is in your currency.
  • Can I somehow preorder a sign?
No. Not only doesn't etsy give the option to preorder, but also I can't do that. I would receive so many preorders, I couldn't work as fast as people demand it. Follow my Instagram or my Twitter to stay up-to-date with restocks.
  • How long does it take till I receive my sign?
Since I don't take preorders and won't put signs online I haven't at least half finished, they can be dispatched shortly after your order. Within Germany and Europe it should arrive within a couple of days, other continents can take longer, some only take a week though, it really depends on where you live.
  • Can I track my order?
Yes every dispatched order will get a tracking number, I send to you and etsy once it's dispatched. That way all parties have the security for a fair transaction.
  • I realized I ordered the wrong product. What do I do?
Since my shop is quite well-visited and I can easily resale your order it isn't a problem to cancel an order and set up a different one via PayPal. Please know that this doesn't work for special editions though, otherwise people will take advantage of it to get a special edition when they missed the sale.
  • My address changed during the transaction process, what do I do?"
Send me a message on etsy and I'll change the address, but please know that after I already dispatched it and it comes back to my place for not being delivered, you gotta pay the shipping fee for the second shipping process.
  • My order arrived damaged.
Unfortunately I can not control how post men treat the packages, just know that I wrap it as safely as possible in multiple layers of bubble wrap. Should you receive a damaged product please take a picture and send me a message with it and we can figure out how to go from there.
  • My order didn't arrive.
Since we got tracking numbers that should be impossible to happen. Yet, it happened once before and a sign came back to my place twice because the mail somehow was unable to deliver to that address. Just know that I understand these things can happen and send me a message so we can figure something out.
  • I didn't receive the product I ordered.
Never happened before, won't happen. I got it all black on white and I'm very careful when wrapping the orders. :)
  • Do you make costum signs?
Maybe some day. For now this isn't planned.
  • Can you message me, when the signs go back on sale?"
I get this question a lot. Unfortunately I can't. I can't keep track of that many people wanting personal reminders and usually the signs sell out within minutes so they would probably be sold before I can send you a message. Follow my Instagram or my Twitter to stay up-to-date with restocks.
  • Aren't you worried about copyright problems?
Obviously you always are when creating something based off of some other people's creation or fame. But people also sell self-made merch on red bubble etc. without getting sued so where is the difference to my work that at least has a big part of own effort and creativity and also isn't available elsewhere? It's not like I recreate something you can buy from the artists themselves. I always stress in every product description that I obviously don't own the logos. So far I also never got negative feedback from artists, Jamie Oborne (manager of The 1975) said it's fine, as they don't plan to ever sell them themselves and also Wolf Alice didnt mind, when I talked to one of their members about it. In the end I only want to give fans what they've been asking for for so long.
